Rodman Physics Sequences...

I will be coming to UVA this fall as a Rodman Scholar. Very excited! I’m not sure if it’s a bit early to figure this out, but I’m trying to set up a pretty general list of courses for my four years because I am thinking I want to double major and maybe get a minor, and I figure that my schedule will be pretty tight.

Anyway, since apparently the Rodman Scholars have the option to choose between the physics majors’ intro physics course sequence and the engineering majors’ intro physics course sequence, I am looking for a bit of comparison between them/thoughts on choosing between the two.

Thanks.

Very generally speaking: the engi sequences is 2 classes(1425 and 2415) allow you to take modern physics (2620)
The physics major sequence is 3 classes(1610, 1620, 2610) allows you to take modern physics (2620).

You can check out the above listed course numbers and see what they cover. It is fairly safe to say that the physics major sequence offers more depth. Also, be advised the physics major courses are ALL 4 CREDITS and the engi are 3+3+4 if you go through modern physics.
