Admission to Belmont Hill is highly competitive. I think you’d have to be an exceptionally compelling candidate to get a spot there at this point.

Come to think of it, where did you hear BH has rolling admission? I believe BH’s deadline for applications is Feb. 1.

Worcester Academy in Worcester, MA. PG year; 5 & 7 day boarding options. Urban campus, day and boarding, diverse community, strong athletics, arts, excellent academics with small classes and superb teachers. Very open, welcoming community, great community service opportunities.

Great news - a chance a Kent is looking brighter. The admissions officer replied, saying she would help setup with a Skype interview, and that I should send in the rest of my application. I guess this at least means they’re interested. I know Kent doesn’t have an avalanche of applications like Exeter or Andover, but the campus seems great if not perhaps as good as other New England schools… any thoughts? Thanks for the efforts and support! I’ll keep posting…

Good luck with Kent!
Unfortunately, golf is usually a spring sport, so the chance of getting good enough to be recruited seems unlikely. If you want to try to get better, you might find out there are any boarding schools that offer it in the spring and fall AND have a golf course on campus. With a golf course on campus, you can work on your game when you have the time.
Please contact a few more schools. Rolling admissions can start to close at some schools. While Kent seems very interested, you just never know.

I’m just about lined up for Kent and Harvard Secondary School over the summer, the next step is to setup a student loan this week.

Kent has a formidable and unique pre-engineering program. My goal is to pursue a heavy course load (at least relative to other PG’s) and perform flawlessly in my classes, even if it means 6 late nights a week. My counselor at my soon-to-be-graduated-from HS, as well as other mentors, agree that success in Kent’s pre-engineering program will demonstrate future college academic success better than ACTs/SATIIs/HS GPA, etc.

My other point of focus for next year is to be further working on golf. If I can be recruitable as early as the fall, I will have a shot at an athletic likely letter = dream achieved. I’m in the 11-15 range on handicaps, and working on * consistently* scoring in the high 60s. Golf season for guys is not until the spring, however I can practice and play all year long on the very near by golf course (yay!), according to Kent consolers and coach.

Harvard is my #1, largely because of the type of school (one of the few humanities oriented with engineering; historic east coast type) and because of the non-pure science degree, engineering science. I also know a slew of Harvard students, and fit in/have the highest quality friendships with them better than the people I know from MIT and other Ivy’s like Yale. I will also have MIT, Notre Dame, Stanford, UPenn and others on the app list.

Fortunately or unfortunately, it looks like I will be applying to H (my #1) in regular decision season. Perhaps I can rack in a different college acceptance in early decision season, to ease the worries going into 2012.

This is my game plan in a nutshell …at least the major important parts of it. I would love to hear comments and thoughts, post or PM me… no doubt the next year will pan out the direction of the rest of my life… any help is sincerely appreciated! hugs
