Romani Jr is on the way

I thought this was already disclosed.

Footloose… So how’s the 6 degrees of separation here… Lol… From Kevin Bacon

Hold it its not Ren McCormack in Footloose Kevin Bacon character?

Who was Ren in Kiss me Kate?

There is no Ren in “Kiss Me Kate.” I think the title refers to another example of a name that can be used as a nickname or stand alone name.

She said “my name is part of a very long running Broadway show.” The Kate reference is to HER name, not the baby’ s.

Got it… I read that incorrectly…

Sorry for the confusion. Yes my name is Kate and I used to get “Kiss me Kate” jokes/taunts thrown my way. I brought it up to show that no matter what the name, people will associate it with something.

romani, how many weeks are you now?

@Nrdsb4 29.5 - it’s going too quickly! The baby shower is already this weekend.

Name clusters: At one point, my daughter’s 24-kid 1990s elementary school classroom had Nick M, Nick S, Niko, Nika, and Nickel. All named “Nicholas” (and not wanting to be called that) except for Nika, a girl, who was “Nicola.”

When my mother was pregnant with me, she read some article that said people with uncommon names were more likely to have criminal records. So she gave me what was, at the time, one of the three most common names (although that year it slipped to #5). As a result of which all of my life I – and many other men – have been turning around to see who called my name whenever I am in an area with lots of (English-speaking) people. The name stayed top-10 pretty much through the 80s, but over the last 30 years it has steadily fallen to somewhere in the high 20s.

Funny, I don’t know any girls named Ren, only men. IMO, it’s definitely a good unisex name.

It sure seems like it has flown by! Then again, I’m not the one who is pregnant, lol. You are definitely on the home stretch. Have fun at the shower!

I love it - Ren Elizabeth O’Something sounds beautiful.

The strangest name/nickname combination I have heard was form a friend in college. He told us his sister’s name was Nancy, but that was just her nickname, her real name was Ann. Sounded backwards to me!

Think the name combination is beautiful or handsome(middle name change for the boy? … I guess… Lol…

April 3, Girl since someone took my April 4th… Lol… ??

I like Ren, not that my opinion matters.

I’ll go with April 10th and a girl.

Yes Ren Elizabeth for a girl and temporarily Ren Cyrus for a boy but it’s really just a place holder since Mr cannot come up with a middle name he likes lol.

Nancy has been a nickname for Ann for hundreds of years. I’m “into” genealogy and know that if there is a Nancy in the family you need to search for Ann to find the birth cert/baptismal record.

Prior to the early 1980s, Catholics had to use a saint’s name for baptisms. There is no St. Nancy, so every Catholic Nancy was baptized Ann.

Nothing like an April 1st birthday; so fun to see the pranks over the years. Our 4/1 kid enjoyed what peers came up with for the celebrations.

All the best in the home stretch. I am happy and excited for you.

As Nellie is a nickname for Helen.

Yes, it all seems to have gone by so quickly. Seems just a few weeks ago, Rom bought her first maternity outfits.

As always on CC, I learn something new every time I come here.

Nancy has also been a stand alone name since the 18th century, as well as a nickname for Ann. We have a family member whose first name is Nancy, also my late mother in law’s middle name was Nancy. Both Protestant though, not Catholic.
