There are a lot of long term marriages in our family. My folks have been married 65 years. Older sis has been married over 3 decades. Brother and I both had weddings in 1986, younger sibs got married a bit later but we are all still happily married. Most of my friends are still married after 2-3 decades or more and going strong. Kate, you and your H have a strong, loving foundation and am sure your marriage will flourish and nurture both of you!

Actually we have friends in Los Angeles and Los Alamos, New Mexico and other locations, who have had marriages spanning many decades as well. I think the key to a long and happy marriage is what you already know–communicate, grow together, mutual respect, and of course, a good sense of humor. These will help you weather a whole lot of whatever the future may bring!
