Root cause of the refugees/migrants crisis in Europe

Germany is so weak willed on this that they are actually debating WHETHER to send back refugees convicted of committing these crimes. ( I wouldn’t think the debate would be whether, but how fast to send them back). Surely the German people are becoming absolutely fed up with the current government.

That’s their business, not yours. And don’t call us Shirley.

One reason that I heard of is that taking in refugees into such Arabian countries may even de-stablize their government. Also, I had the impression (I could be wrong here) that whoever is pro-western (publicly) could become unpopular politicially in most countries in that region.

It is true that the rebuilding of many countries in the Europe after WWII caused some mass migration/immigration into the western Europe over the years (because the force of economics drew these migrants/immigrants there.) But somehow many immigrants may not assimilate into the receiving countries well.

As regard to what our immigration policy should be, this is a contrversial topic that may not have been changed since Reagan (1986?) I think we really do not want to create the two-tiered workforce system like we see in, say, Kuwait, where many of their citizens live in the wellfare system supported by the lower-tiered workers who are migrant workers forever. It is somewhat like what happened in US’s early history: Imported the male workers (only) as cost-effective and industrious labor from China to help build the rail road – only tried to kick them out when they were no longer needed. (It was a dangerous job too. Today, migrant workers in our food processing companies take dangerous jobs too. We may also have two-tiered workforce here too, only to a less extent.)

I think I posted this earlier in the thread. Here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/anhvinh-doanvo/europes-crisis-refugees_b_8175924.html

Do we have proof that it was “planned”? Sources people!

I could say the same about the US government allowing terrorists free reign on federal land in Oregon.

ETA: also, all I saw was the attack that happened in Cologne. Has there been a new attack?

If you click on these links, it will answer your question. This doesn’t just happen one night a year or only in Germany…our niece who lives in Stockholm was a victim of such an attack , which landed her in the hospital due to her injuries and also left her on a long term disability, so yeah, this is a problem in several European countries.

According to this article Gulf countries count guest workers from Syria on a temporary work visa as refugees. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chaker-khazaal/no-arab-gulf-countries-ar_b_8280448.html

@CCDD14 That’s is the point of the first huffpost article I posted, I think. Saudi Arabia has no “refugees”.

@lje62 I’m sorry to hear that. I hope your niece gets better.

The links above answer some questions, not all. The minister “thinks” the attacks were planned. I’m sorry, but that is no where near a confirmation that they were (I’ve learned not to take opinions from politicians as Gospel). It also says 18 refugees perpetrated the attack, along with 12 Germans. The other attacks have no statistics on who did it. Here’s the thing: I have a friend who lives in Berlin who tells me that unless she had several people with her she would * never * dare walk alone at night. That was *before * the migrant crisis ever happened. My sister told her that she must be exaggerating, and she answered by telling us that three of the women she shares an apartment building with have been raped at one point or another. I earlier posted a quote that was too long to a German writer who covers this issue (and the migrants crisis). I’ll see if I can find it to post a link later.
