Hello, I’m an upcoming senior who’s looking at getting a ROTC Scholarship, but at the same time I’m also looking to major in Biomedical Sciences at UCF, and I heard that after ROTC I might get deploy, which will hinders my chance of going into Med school right after college. Can anyone tell me is it possible to get all 8 years in reserved so that I can finish med school? If not, then what can I do in the Army with a Biomedical Sciences degree? Thank you
Google “ROTC and Med Schools” and you’ll find a lot of useful info. It’s very competitive to get an educational delay right out of ROTC, but it does happen. However, you may find yourself having to serve 4 or 5 years, before being able to go to med school.
