My top choices are Rowan University (10k scholarship per year), Rutgers, Virginia tech, and upitt. I’m from Nj and want to major in computer engineering. I want to go to Rutgers over rowan but even with being in state the tuition is 35k per year. Rowan will be cheaper with the scholarship but Rutgers has a bigger name and a better alumni network/better opportunities.
Virginia tech is ranked higher for engineering but out of state tuition will be more. Same for upitt. I didn’t get any scholarships from Rutgers, upitt, and Virginia tech. Which one should I commit to?

First - the one you can afford.
Then the one that you feel most comfortable.
I find it hard to believe that you’ll attain a vastly different outcome from Rutgers, Va Tech or Pitt - all large flagship like and excellent schools.
I can’t speak to Rowan - but if that’s what your family can afford, I’m sure it’s a great option. It’s ABET accredited as are the others. So it’s likely they put out plenty of successful grads. You can ask them - I’m sure they have a detailed placement report.
Best of luck.
