RPI Class of 2024 Thread

@College8886. All i know is UMD CS is Far far better than Rutgers CS.

@mspitzer - Same - the Spring Admit Enrollment Guide helped a bit, but not 100%, Any mention of financial aid/merit for you? (No link or mention in the letter at all)

@CiociaT No mention of any aid. RPI had been his first choice - he loved it when we toured last year, but not sure at this point how it’s going to shake out. Between Spring admission, no aid (so far, at least) and the growing pains with ARCH I’m concerned. We are also going to miss the Accepted Student day in April as it conflicts with RIT, which is a bummer. The next few weeks will be interesting as he weighs up the pros and cons.

@Mspitzer @CiociaT - We are facing the same situation (admitted for Spring 2021 and no financial aid/merit). It does not make sense to spend $75K+ a year and start in spring no matter how good the school is even money is not an issue for your families. It’s time to move on and look for better options.

@PLO2020 100% agree.

Accepted. 1490 SAT, 34 ACT. Leadership Scholarship 27K/yr. Is that the set amount for that scholarship or do they vary based on merit?

@mackenzie215 The Leadership scholarships vary based on merit.

My son was accepted to Computer Engineering. 35 ACT, 4.34 WGPA, Eagle Scout. Not enough merit, so we will not be going.

I’m frustrated that I applied to this school in November and there is no merit or fin aid yet

i got in RD

@jetmathmama RPI provides FA for 5 years if you stay for a masters.

Thanks Thinkbigger! I will need some data point between UMD CS and RPI CS.

@College8886 - UMD CS program is ranked much higher than Rutgers or RPI CS. Please check following websites for details.

@h8annah if you got your decision it came with it if you got aid

I got in w 26k leadership award  No SAT, no subject tests or AP’s, 35 ACT

I know I have merit 100%. I don’t have an aid package yet either so I’m mad @arynnp1

My son got into RPI but no financial letter. Am I missing something? I was told by admissions back in the fall he would most likely be eligible for merit scholarships but I have no communication regarding this with his acceptance letter.

No word on merit or financial aid here either? It’s not on the portal yet.

Still haven’t received anything regarding financial aid or merit.

@h8annah idk then, it should’ve come with the acceptance, there might be a chance that you just didn’t? maybe email them
