Rutgers University Early Action for Fall 2025

whats your daughter’s stats?

Reddit also, so disgusting

Where are you finding those stats?

The 77,000 is based on a social media post by Courtney McAnuff, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management.
For yield and class size, I used historical averages.

I think that 77K includes all campuses (of course New Brunswick has 90%+ of the volume).

Regardless the Rutgers app numbers are confusing. From Rutgers website they had 46K apps for class of 2027 (across all campuses), yet Courtney McAnuff’s press release from that year said 56,200 apps. The 43,347 number on the chart for New Brunswick does tie to the 2023-24 CDS.

.

That table isn’t updated for Class of 2028, nor is the 2024-25 CDS out yet, but last year Courtney reported 76K apps, and as you said, this year 77K. Class of 2027-28 app growth was due to rutgers going on the common app. It will be interesting what the upcoming CDS reports for Class of 2028.

FWIW, with the increase in apps, I’d expect yield to go down, so they could accept more than in previous years.

I also wonder how they take into account applications to more than one school within a campus (the ability to apply to SAS, SOE, and RBS simultaneously). You can then get accepted to one, but not the others. How on earth would they calculate an admission percentage for this?!

Hmm, yes maybe. I assumed it was just NB because McAnuff is in charge of enrollment just at New Brunswick.

But if the NB number is lower, and as @beefeater suggested the yield has dropped, the acceptance rate will be quite a bit higher.

Answering my own post, S25 did not get a further update on the 23rd. He was initially admitted to his second choice school yesterday, but still waiting for his first choice school.

Son accepted to Nursing NB. In state 4.5 gpa, test optional, attended vo-tech school now completing dual enrollment at community college.

Has anyone been able to access their NetID?

No, tried again this morning. Guess it will take more time to sync up their internal systems.

has anyone had any luck setting up the netid? I can’t get it to work

S25 finally received the decision e-mail from Rutgers this afternoon. Still can’t set up NetID though…

Not working yet

I have been told by the tech team that NetID can be setup only after the admission offer is accepted. It wasn’t clear to me .

I was able to create a NetID around 3:30-4PM EST yesterday. Maybe it’s backlogged?

Yes - something you’ll learn about Rutgers’ systems - they are not very good and not integrated well, hence having to wait 24 hours sometimes for user data to sync up behind the scenes.

That doesn’t make much sense since it seems that a NetID is needed to view financial aid information.

i thought as much - but their IT office after debugging came to that conclusion.
