SAS has many majors and CS is one of them. RU doesn’t have a direct admit to CS like Purdue, UMD or UIUC. Students have to meet major requirements before they can declare CS major. See my son’s experience with CS in another posting. Basically for SAS, your student can take whatever classes and then declare his/her major. Check out each department’s webpage to better understand the requirements for declaring the major.

I get it. CS is a hot major now and some schools have even limited the number of CS freshmen they admit. Rutgers understandably has set their own standards. Thanks for the valuable feedback and glad your son found his path to success.

do you remember when you got any financial aid info last year?
It’s weird because every kid in his school heard back today, my son is texting me from school. I told him to speak with the guidance counselor to confirm everything was sent. I also heard RU is rolling out decisions over 48 hours, did anyone else hear that?
We didn’t qualify for any FA. S24 ended up going to a different school so we kind of lost track of Rutgers last year after he was admitted.

You may also check the status/ download-date of documents required from the HS counsellor on the common app.

D25 admitted to SAS and SEBS today. Interested in Public Health/Social Work. I’m an alum as is my oldest child who graduated SAS this past spring. Congrats to all who were accepted and best of luck to those still waiting.

His still says UR for NB. He’s been accepted into Newark Business tho.
We got in for business to NB, even though it was later compared to few others who reported initially. I believe they are just uploading decisions in batches just randomly, you should hear soon.
