Rutgers University New Brunswick Early Action for Fall 2024

Same here. Waitlisted at NB for Engg. and alternate majors when we checked the portal this morning. Accepted at Camden for Biology. We are in-state. This was not entirely unexpected given the higher number of applications and similar experiences with S23 last year.

I applied to the honors college as well as NB so will I find out later because I applied to the honors college? I haven’t gotten any updates on my application since I submitted it…

Honors College decisions have typically gone out later, in March.

sorry to hear that. what are his stats. SAT submitted ? GPA etc if you dont mind sharing. Waiting to hear fro RBS here too

Do you mind sharing your stats? I applied to engineering and havent heard anything but getting nervous

you also had the email?

heard acceptances occur before rejections… Is rutgers giving rejections first ?

We got the email from Rutgers yesterday. Stats for S24 are 3.5W / 1270 SAT (Superscore). Last year, S23 got deferred for Engg with 3.56UW / 3.61W / 1420 SAT and then admitted in March. He was also deferred and finally waitlisted for RBS, so RBS is certainly a harder college for admittance.

surprising waitlisted… too many applications I guess

Couple friends got rejected from RBS and waitlisted at SAS, I haven’t heard anything

Is this only the first wave? Or are there going to be more rejections and waitlists coming out in the next few days?

Did I miss any prior messages on being accepted to RBS? I am only hearing wait lists and rejections

My daughter was accepted to RBS Newark and waitlisted at RBS New Brunswick. They seem to be the same school though? Anyone have any experience with this scenario and if so, will it even matter if she gets off the waitlist at New Brunswick?

According to what I heard from a friend, that’s how Rutgers NB does it. They will release waitlist and deny first so they can forward those applicants to Newark and Camden for admission consideration. NB Acceptance will come after that.

Thank you. we applied only to NB RBS and SAS. In state.

Yes really bad from Rutgers for In-state really sucks :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::rage::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

DD Not admitted for Rbs and wait listed for CAS and COE
Admitted to Newark no way interested

Rutgers going for OOS kids for money :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

They are not getting our money. DD got really top admissions UPitt for business , IU , Stony brook with large scholarships we will got for that

Rutgers reserves 82% of seats for in state applicants. The competition for the remaining OOS and international seats is far more intense.

lol that’s not true any more , back in 2021 my DS got admitted to CS with same stats as my DD

Good to hear that your DD has other great options. As Rutgers ranking bumped up this year and plus first year on common app, competition is higher. Rutgers in state tuition is very affordable to be honest. My son also got in Pitt but it is a lot pricier than others even with merits. Stony Brook gives pretty good merits and make it affordable so it may be good option.
