To avoid creating confusion like this, can discussions of schools other than Rutgers be moved to those threads?
D was admitted yesterday to SAS and Engineering. 3.97 UW/ 4.6 W GPA; 1450 SAT; did not hear about Honors College. Top kid, top HS, etcâŠ
D admitted yesterday to Nursing and SAS. OOS, 3.8/4.4. 10 AP, 7 DE, top 10% very large HS, TO
I know everyone accepted into the honors college gets merit, but I donât know if everyone who gets accepted into an honors program automatically gets merit.
Sorry, I should have been specific. Honors college, not necessarily the honors program.
OOS Admitted for BS Economics - New Brunswick
Emails regarding decisions have FINALLY begun to go out to students.
Yes, my S24 received an email about checking th portal as well as a request to open an IT account
regarding wait list, is it first come first served ? We didnt click accept wait list till just now.
DS just got an email he got in New Brunswick, A & S (computer science). Thatâs all he applied for. He didnât even apply early action so it was a nice surprise to hear. We are OOS and Rutgers was a last minute add based on the types of schools he seemed interested in (larger state schools).
He wants to visit now.
Sorry what does Top Kid mean?
No, schools donât process the WL that way. If thereâs available space after May 1, they will decide who to make an offer to.
I am reading posts from last year , and many are saying people were accepted off waitlists earlier - feb - April , so that seems to possible though not very likely
Top 5% ranking; All State Athlete, Volunteer, great recs, nice person
Mine feels the same way but CA to NJ is far⊠We will wait to see on honors as we need at least some merit to bring the $50K price tag down a bit.
Does it matter what major you apply to? I am wondering if applying to a more competitive major (CS) is the difference. Very similar stats, rigor and resume and same result here. WL for SAS. I am having a hard time understanding why these stats are not good enough.
I didnât apply to Rutgers, but I heard it was pretty harsh this year.
I am wondering same thing about whether major matters too. Similar stats here tooâin state deferred for SAS (CS).
Yes, certain majors are more competitive including CS.
Hi everyone . Yesterday My son got a ânot admitted to Arts and Sciences and about an hour ago he got an email saying it was changed to âwaitlistâ. Has anyone seen this? Does anyone know the chances of getting accepted while on waitlist? Slim to none? Haha. He is going to enroll at Camden if he is not accepted to NB but the letter stated they would make final decisions by August 1! So late.
