Some schools allow you to sign up and pay a deposit for housing even if you don’t enroll. I don’t know if Rutgers is one of them, but the kids I know haven’t rushed to sign up early. There seems to be enough housing available.
The placement tests don’t have to be taken until after you enroll.
There’s no need to rush and enroll unless Rutgers is your absolute #1 and you don’t want to consider other options.
Thank you so much for your help!
If we enroll now the placement test is still going to be in march right?
My son opened it Thursday morning, so I’m assuming the portal updated on Wednesday like everyone else
Their website says:
Online testing must be completed within 30 days of confirming your enrollment.
so if you enroll today, you have to do the placement test before Feb 26th.
What’s the rush to enroll? Why not keep your options open until you’ve heard from all your schools? (unless that has already happened)
Thank you!
Did anyone who applied by priority deadline not get their decision yet?
My daughter applied early actin, but we haven’t heard a decision. On the community ID website portal it shows two three check marks, with locks beside the “ under review “ and “ decision made.”
She has not received any emails.

In-State Admitted to Arts and Sciences!
3.97UW/4.37W GPA
1510 SAT
12 APs
Several leadership roles
Strong essays
Lots of my friends with ~90 GPA and ~1300 SAT were waitlisted. Super disappointing
Has anyone who received their admission yet received their aid award? Super confused on the wording on the website!
Few questions for anyone knowledgeable:
What campus out of the many at New Brunswick is Rutgers SAS?
What’s the best location for residence and where would most first year classes take place (CS major)?
If Band practices at Busch campus, whats easiest way to get there if that’s not the best campus for classes/residence?
I’m assuming it’s not practical to live and have most classes at one campus without shuttle?
If didn’t apply for honors college at application time, is it possible to apply later (and is it worth it?)
Finally, where do most CS graduates get jobs post-graduation?
Thank you!
I don’t think there is a separate application for the honors college, it’s very competitive.
Back in November we went on a tour of the new Brunswick campus. From what I remember I believe all the students from the school of arts and sciences live on the college Avenue campus. They also said you will have classes all over not just on one campus, so you will have to take the shuttle. I believe the shuttle runs from six in the morning till like one in the morning
My kids listed their preferred campuses in order (one got his first choice, one got her last). College ave is a favorite for those who like to be in a more hopping area (dorms stink).
SAS is not one physical location. It spans multiple campuses.
Classes are all over the place, but most kids I know are at Busch or College Ave
Yes, the shuttles are a necessary and unavoidable part of Rutgers campus life. Some kids get used to it, others think it’s terrible. YMMV.
No. Deadline to apply was Nov 1.
You have to opt in, and there’s an additional supplemental essay.
Lots of places! The career center might be able to provide more specifics.
Sorry if this was posted already, but is there a decision day(s) for New Brunswick SAS? I don’t see it online. Would like to visit but seeing if should just do regular bus tour when it opens in Feb or wait for decision day. Thank you!
Scroll up to my post 513. I link the admitted student info. However, it’s NB campus wide not specific to SAS
