Rutgers University New Brunswick Early Action for Fall 2024

In past years they’ve released a wave of decisions in the third week of December. So you might hear next week.
If not, then mid January.

But also: I expect they’ve received far more applications this year after going to the Common App, so Jan might be more likely than Dec.

My instate S24’s still reads ‘application received’ and it was submitted in October. Third time at this rodeo, and thank goodness this is my last.

Congratulations!!! Just wondering, how do you know if you were admitted if it still says “under review” - we have been since October 15th!!

Congratulations!!! Where do you see that your son was admitted?

Thx. We saw on the application portal (we didn’t get any email or anything, just randomly checked the portal) - the Newark campus says “Admitted”, the NB campus says “under review”. As of this morning, the “Under review” and the “Decision Made” buttons were locked. Then by afternoon we had the decision in the application portal (after clicking the “Decisions Status” button

We only applied to one campus - under what tab are you seeing this?

once i click the admission status, i see the one admitted to and the one that is in review

My son’s says In review for NB campus (he applied only to NB) for like 2-3 weeks now. Has anyone been accepted to NB at all? I see only Newark admissions. Thanks

I checked with friend who work in admission as technology staff. He said it will most likely release in January. He said the status doesn’t matter. Sometimes it doesn’t reflect the real situation. Ours has remained as Application submitted but it doesn’t mean it has not been reviewed. My friend said that you are good as long as you have two check marks on application fee and SRAR completion. Just need to have some more patience for the result.

Submitted application Oct 18, in the portal it only says “Application Submitted” instead of “Under Consideration” like everyone I’ve seen in this thread. Is that normal or should I call admissions to see if it is an error?

I’ve looked into this. Apparently that’s actually very common. Some people in the past have reported it literally says “application submitted” right before a decision. I don’t think the status is updated all that accurately.

Thanks for the info. Looks like it will be Jan then.

There could be a drop mid-week like around Wednesday. I have seen this over the years that the initial drop or two occurred before the Christmas break, with the balance of them occurring around mid-to-end of January. When my first son applied several years ago, he received A&S in December, then Engineering mid-January, and RBS sometime in early February. Just random releases. My second son received his in mid-December before Christmas also two years ago for A&S.

My D24s has remained on the application submitted status since early November. However, as of just the other day the link to withdraw application has disappeared. Makes me think something is happening.

That could be a good sign. My S24 submitted his on 10/25, and the withdraw application link is still there, as well as the application submitted icon being locked. Otherwise, no other noticeable signs of action have taken place.

When we click on View Status, it shows status of application for each school applied to

Maybe it is different because we are OOS and only applying to one school - we don’t have this button yet.
