Rutgers University New Brunswick Early Action for Fall 2024

Anyone hear any updates from Rutgers New Brunswick applicants ?

Nope.

In prior years some decisions came out in December and some in January. Likely they are flooded with applications.

nothing i’ve heard either. slightly unrelated question: does anyone else see “(active)” under the applicant’s first choice college/school? is that normal?

Yes, it’s has been like that from the beginning. It’s normal.

I’ve heard nothing yet, but under my daughters application, it says “ Review”

Actually, it says in review

when did that change?

Beginning of December , that’s why we were hoping to find out before the holidays

Still in “submitted” status since late October for NB placement.

We had in review mid-November no updates since then

My daughters actually might’ve been before Thanksgiving as well because she was admitted to Newark like November 7 I believe it was shortly after that. Her new Brunswick status was in review. Will continue to try and patiently wait
Only a few more weeks to go hopefully.
Good luck to everybody

Same, mine still says submitted. Is this an issue? Should I call admissions?

Someone in this thread responded earlier that it was normal to have the application status in the “submitted” stage this late in the process. I’ll take them at their word, but from an optics perspective, it does raise questions. Except for Rutgers, the other schools my S24 has applied to have application status changes since submitting them in October. This is my third child applying to Rutgers and each admission cycle there is something new. Fortunately, he was accepted into his ED school, so we are less concerned with the outcome here.

My daughter just saw her school future planning teacher and he said Rutgers received 44% more applications this year than last. This may be why the early action decisions are taking so long. Be patient and good luck!

Oh wow. Do they give priority to in state kids?

By law, they need to prioritize in state students, and cannot fill more than 20% of their class with OOS.

Hi all,
Besides SEBS for pre-med track, what other schools should one apply to in Rutgers NB? They sent an email that due to high competition and because they have opened in the Common App, it is advisable for students to apply to different schools
but is it really advisable to apply to other schools - DD has 1410 SAT, lots of extra curriculars, 3.6 uw gpa, marching band, etc
 applied EA. Thanks

If they sent an email re: high competition, take them at their word and absolutely apply to different schools.
