Devastating.
What a catastrophe. I’m in tears. Praying everyone was able to get to safety.
It sounds like people have been evacuated. What a huge loss!
So terrible.
This is so tragic. Is there any news on what started it?
So sad. Since this is CC, I initially thought if ND in South Bend and then upon searching the web found it was the one in Paris. So sad!
Some news outlets say the cause of the fire could be related to the renovation work.
Very sad. I hope they can get it under control soon. The last I saw is that it might have been started because of renovations being done.
I’m in shock. Gotta go look this up. I’m about to cry.
The rose window!
Reminds me of when Windsor Castle burned due to a careless workman during renovation work.
At least some of the works of art were removed before the renovation started.
I get the point but Notre Dame was a work of art.
The beautiful windows will be melted and ruined.
Oh, no!
Such a tragedy, so many historical items there. We visited 2 years ago and it was so memorable. The pictures show the spire and roof collapsed now.
The videos are terrible, really hard to watch. DS is in France right now with his HS French class. Just got a text from him and everyone is OK thank goodness. They just visited Notre Dame yesterday.
Je pleure. Crying.
Heartbreaking. Nôtre-Dame survived the Terror and two world wars but may not survive renovation.
Just a massive gut punch when the spire fell. I’m so incredibly sad. Heartbroken.
