<p>I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It doesn’t matter how old we are (or how old our mom may be) this is so difficult. </p>
<p>When my father-in-law died, we contacted a local shelter and asked what arrangements could be made for us to bring leftover food. We arranged for a caterer to make an assortment of sandwiches on rolls and wraps and placed on smaller trays - an put out extra trays as needed. At the end of the reception, we had several untouched trays which were welcomed at the shelter - did the same thing with cookies. The key was the small trays.</p>
