Safe stats for International Students?

Since the stats in the college websites covers both instate + OOS + international students and international student acceptance rates are lower, what would be a safer score to aim for in terms of GPA and ACT?

College list:
Reaches: CMC (dream school), Harvey Mudd, Georgia Tech
Target: UW Seattle Direct admission to Computer engineering, RPI, UW Madison
Safety: RIT, Case Western

You will not be requiring any financial aid, that will be solid? You can be full pay At CW/RIT?

Honestly, I don’t think there is such a thing as a “safety” for international applicants among selective US universities. Even perfect grades and test scores wouldn’t guarantee you admission.

The best you can do is to cast a wide net among the universities you’d be willing to attend, and then hope for the best. A few additional $70 application fees are nothing compared to the $200,000 you’re preparing to spend on your education.

Unless you can be full pay and qualify for automatic admissions to the honors college, or qualify for an automatic scholarship, there are
no safeties for internationals.

Safe + international = oxymoron.

@Sybylla I’m not considering applying for aids and I don’t think I qualify either. With 34 in ACT and 3.98 GPA and 12 AP, although I understand that there’s no safeties at all for international students, would I have larger chances in RIT and case western?

Higher chances at RIT and Case Western than at Georgia Tech or CMU? Probably, yes. But you already knew that before you started this thread.

You still can’t assume that you’ll be accepted. Heck, RPI might even reject you assuming that you’d enroll at a more selective university anyway.

You are fortunate to have the resources to afford your US college education. Between your money, your grades and your test scores, you will find plenty of universities happy to have you. You just can’t assume that any particular university will be on that list.

UW-Madison may be close to a safety. Probably safer than CWRU (because they are so much bigger so have a ton more slots).
