Safeties/Matches like Cornell

Specifically, I like Greek life, D1 sports, a nice campus, and engineering.
So far, I’ve come up with:
Lehigh
UMass
UVM
Bucknell
Syracuse

Any more out there?

There are many out there. What can your family afford? What is your home state? What are your stats?

Assuming you have the stats to get into Cornell, and the means to pay for it, almost any state flagship, and many non-flagships would fit all of your listed criteria.

Unless there were major merit aid, I don’t think I’d be able to afford too many out-of-state public schools. I’m going for need-based aid at Cornell and other privates—EFC of $5-10k. UMass is my ultimate financial safety for both in-state tuition and merit aid. I’m really only applying to UVM because my fee was waived. Most of the similar schools I’ve found are reaches—Northwestern, Vandy, WashU, etc.

[The University of Alabama](<a href=“Page Not Found | The University of Alabama”>http://www.ua.edu/) and [UAHuntsville - Home](http://www.uah.edu/) both have excellent guaranteed merit-based aid for OOS students. There are even more institutionis that offer guaranteed aid in this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/848226-important-links-automatic-guaranteed-merit-scholarships.html?highlight=automatic</a></p>

If money is an issue for you, and you have good stats, spend some time in the Financial Aid Forum reading all of the threads on those topics.

Wishing you all the best!
