You literally beat me by a second. The U.S. Marshal on CNN is speculating terrorism. Let’s hope all the people are safe.
My niece lives in San Bernardino. I had a message from her that she is ok and not near where this is. I just saw that the bomb squad was called in for a possible explosive device.

Another day, another shooting.
It’s at a center for people with developmental disabilities. I don’t even have words.
Horrible.
Ugh, really frightening and depressing.
The site appears to be an office building, although some clients might have been there when the shooting occurred. CBS News has active coverage.
At least 12 dead so far. And yes, it’s terrorism, but apparently not the kind certain people are always obsessed with: the shooters are described as “three white men in military gear.” Mentally ill loners, perhaps?
I can’t deal with this anymore. Including the excuse-making.
@DonnaL where did you see that description? (Not doubting you, I just don’t see that being reported.)
I feel uncomfortably close to this as my work is in mental health facilities in California. I feel too intimately connected to the facilities and patients. Of course, it is NOTHING, absolutely nothing, compared to what the actual friends and families of these victims will experience.
Just another day in America. Move along, folks. It’ll happen again tomorrow somewhere else.
And we’re coming up upon the anniversary of Sandy Hook. This is becoming all too commonplace.
CNN just interviewed a man whose son was in the building. He said it is a center for people with disabilities, but not where a lot of children would be present. He said it is a lot of administrative personnel.
Sickening.

The description of the shooters is in the Jezebel story, quoting a report by Fox 11 Los Angeles. But I don’t see it elsewhere. So who knows? They apparently got away, so I’m sure the speculation will continue.
The CNN report says witnesses said 3 individuals wearing protective gear and carrying rifles of somekind left the scene in a black SUV.
I got a text a few minutes ago from the 5Cs emergency notice system about it. Scared the heck out of me, as I didn’t know how close it was to the Claremont campuses. I checked and it is about 30 minutes away, but they are monitoring as the shooter(s) have not been caught/identified yet. 
“Becoming”? It became all too common years ago.
In the past there have been reports of multiple shooters and it turned out to be a single shooter. Early reports are always confused.
CNN has a description of three men in body armor and some type of ‘long gun’ or ‘rifle’. Reports are hazy. Both the FBI and ATF are there. I honestly feel like any condoling or sympathetic noises I make (‘how horrible’ and ‘so sorry for the victims’) will sound fake because I already used them a hundred times this year. When will it stop?
This is at a Regional Center which houses offices for individual who provide services to children and adults with developmental disabilities, specifically autism, intellectual disabilities, CP, and epilepsy, as well as early childhood intervention services. Why??? Why this place?? My son is a client at a different RC and this is just too close.
