Maybe more students apply to SDSU due to great location & lower cost than ivies & UCLA/UCB. 
Maybe they don’t have enough staff to review all the essays & activities etc… wait CSU App doesn’t include that. So what are they really reviewing again?
PS: Feels like one could have vibe coded the basic admit results in 5 days and resolved ties, WL in another 10. I could be wrong. Surely they should take 5 months to figure out the merit scholarships by doing manual review.
Does anyone know if SDSU is ok with students taking classes at community college concurrently, to either accelerate / due to filled classes or schedule conflict at home campus? I understand that certain prerequisites and upper div coursework needs to be taken in residence but for others like GEs . DD goes to SJSU and they are very liberal with this sort of thing but wasn’t sure if SDSU or all Cal States are. (Saw a UCDavis major specific recorded .ppt and it appeared that they require pre-approval for that sort of thing and approval isn’t guaranteed…again not sure if that is UC or campus/major specific).
Yes, for GEs you can definitely take a lot of them at a CA community college and a lot of students do. I believe there is a course catalog online showing which CC classes match SDSU classes, too

Maybe the process is: clear admits first (5th), then transfer admits, then assess for remaining space and fill as available.
Appears to be. My transfer son was admitted yesterday for Kinesiology (Pre-PT). Freshman son was admitted on the 5th for the same major.
my daughter is still waiting to hear from SDSU (freshman applicant) - anyone know when they should find out?

My son was just waitlisted for Biology. Local, 4.13 CSU GPA.
Waitlisted for Business Marketing. California ushered my last and final kid out of state. Their loss. 4.13 GPA.
Son rejected kinesiology.

Not that we would have taken it given the many OOS admits with merit scholarships that makes it in-state UC price. In retrospect, Finance majors (CA residents) should just skip UC & CSU Apps and focus on OOS apps.
One cool thing from it all is my family will now have the power 4 conferences covered . . . ACC (S20, Clemson), Big 10 (S21, Purdue), SEC (S23, Auburn), and Big 12 (D26, TCU). Good luck everyone!
