Santa Clara University Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

Is it in the pdf or linked from the main page?

I didn’t see the arrows initially either. Thank you for sharing this! It looks like the scholarships are first year, then continued if the student meets the scholarship requirements.

Does anyone know the typical range of scholarships offered?

Not sure about range but our S24 got around 29.5 K in scholarship for the 2024-2025 year. The way they have worded it seems like it is for next year but not sure about after that.

Yes that’s what it looks like.

Thanks for flagging the financial aid letters.

For us SCU came in with a couple thousand more financial aid than the Net Cost Calculator had led us to expect.

Wondered if my S24 might be on the edge of Bronco scholarship after being invited to apply for honors. Didn’t receive it.

Still feel really grateful for this opportunity. And wish you all the admission results and financial means for meaningful years ahead.

D received a needs-based grant but no merit aid listed. I thought she would get some merit aid. She received the honors college email as well. Needs-based and merit awards would be listed together if she qualified, correct?

My D got a SCU need based grant but no merit aid. She got a letter inviting her to apply to honors college. She will go ahead and go for it. Does anyone know if the SCU Need Based Grant is ever combined with Merit aid?

We are wondering same.

My S24 got both merit and need based on his financial aid letter.

Just got the letter today, son received deans scholarship $20k year

What were his stats?

My daughter did almost everything she could for demonstrated interest including applying ED to her top school and having a previous teacher/student at her school send in a letter of rec and was also deferred from that school. We think it was because her rigor doubled for the senior year which would be more in line what what they are looking for and they want to see her grades compared to others submitting mid-year grades. Also, a lot of spots are for athletics. Tell your kid that if it is her top school, don’t be discouraged.

We just got the financial aid letter, but nothing regarding merit was there. I wrote the school. I mean, why would she maybe get into the honors program (invited to apply, 5% students get in) and not get any merit. Makes no sense.

People were discussing the Honors email upthread. It seemed like all admitted students received that email. From what I could tell on the website, the recipients of two specific scholarships were automatically admitted to Honors (no application needed), and everyone else was invited to apply. I agree that this wording is confusing, but that is how I interpreted it! I will also agree that their Financial Aid letter is the most confusing we have come across yet.

I didn’t get any merit aid but with the FAFSA could I still get federal grants?

Got Bronco buck$. Grateful!

Silly question, but did you notice that there are additional pages behind the cover page for financial aid? I originally didnt see the arrows. Merit was on page 2.

it took me a minute, but yeah, I did see the arrows. This is what we got:
