SAT/ACT 25th/75th Percentile?

While I see that the 25th/75th for the whole freshman class as a whole for the 2008-2009 school year was 1220-1440 and 27-32, does UVA divide up the averages past that?

What I’m basically asking is: does UVA calculate out-of-state percentiles and in-state percentiles as well?

we all wish they would publish that kind of data, but they… don’t.

here are some other interesting links on the subject (hinting at oos score differences):

So would you say that the actual ranges can’t be more than 30-50 points higher?

And wow there seems to be a lot of complaining about who the university selects from the state looking at those articles. I wouldn’t know being out on the west coast though.

when i visited and spoke with an admissions officer, being oos, i asked what the average oos sat score is… he told me 1360, which seemed low but i hope that is true haha

that seems more like the overall average to me

Haha no I think the overall average is around 1300-1320 so that could be about right. I just don’t think there’s as much of a difference as some people might perceive.

i really hope not this and unc are tied for my number one school and i dont feel like paying 50 k a year to go to bc or nova where i got in already haha

Haha yeah. I think to get into UVA out-of-state you need to be in the top 5% instead of just top 10% of your class more than you need to have significantly higher test scores.

But if I don’t get in here I’ll probably end up at UCLA which is fine as well.
