ok, so my dilemma is the fact that when i send my SAT II scores through collegeboard, my SAT I score is also sent but when i send SAT I score, SAT II scores aren’t. so i want to use the the free score sending service in the very best way. i plan to apply to lehigh, bucknell, swarthmore, and all require SAT II scores. and i also plan to apply to lafayette and villanova among many others and these recommend the score but do not require it.should i send the latter colleges only SAT I scores? or should i send SAT II scores as well? lafayette has a very good financial program i think which i would need being an international student so would i be taking a risk not sending the SAT II scores, esp when i plan to major in engineering?
please help me decide!

First of all, I would want you to see this http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/international-students/707782-class-2015-nepal-55.html.
Now answering you question, I aint really sure about buckneel and lehigh but donont send your free scores for swarthmore (and as a matter of fact to other similar liberal arts colleges). I am sure you have few National and/or private universities in your list. Use your scores for those. You will receive a copy of your score report, attest the copies of your score report and send it to these colleges. If you are unsure just email the admission counsellor and I am sure you will get mostly positive replies. In this way all the colleges you want to, will receive your SAT I and SAT II scores. (Great SAT scores is never going to harm you in admissions)
And if you are up for engineering at lafayette and othe international studensts have similar stats as you (SAT I, GPA etc) but have SAT II scores (Which are great), then you
are obviously going to be at disadvanatage.

hey thanks for the reply. i plan to send official scores to swarthmore because i plan to ED there and i don’t think i’ll be showing a real interest at swarthmore if i won’t be sending the official scores. plus the deadline for ED is nov 15th and i’m giving my SAT II at nov 6th, so i’ll have to rush report the score and hence official score is required. (i already asked about my late nov date to swarthmore and they said rush reporting would be fine.) i’m so unsure about this. and i have seen class of 2015 from nepal…i have also asked a few of my queries there if u have noticed. lehigh and bucknell sound good but do they provide food financial aid to international students? esp nepalese? guess i’ll be asking the same question on the mentioned thread as well lol

Let me get this straight. You don’t mind paying $29 to rush scores, but you are willing to gamble with your admission chances elsewhere to save $10? You will resent this decision in a few months if you don’t get into the schools that you did not send the scores to. We don’t know if the scores would make a difference, but why not submit the strongest application that you can submit? $10 really mean nothing in the bigger picture.

@ b@r!um: nope that’s not what i’m saying. the colleges i plan to attend to are mostly liberal arts colleges so they’ll mostly take in attested scores. i have to rush report SAT II scores to swarthmore if i want to be considered for ED. my problem is i want to find colleges where i can send only SAT I scores without hurting my chances of getting in. i’ll be sending the SAT II scores to all colleges no doubt but when i send that score, my SAT I scores will reach as well. want to to send the SAT I scores to those colleges which will not mind getting just the SAT I score. but then i plan to major at engineering so i think almost all colleges would like to get my SAT II scores as well. so i might as well send the SAT I scores to some of them using the free report…

How can withholding beneficial information not affect your admission chances? (Assuming your scores are decent, that is.) Colleges would not recommend that you submit scores if they didn’t care about them.

Financial aid for international students is extremely competitive. (An admissions official from Colby College said that they got ~900 applications from international students seeking financial aid one year and could only admit 10 of them. I don’t have Lafayette’s numbers, but it seems safe to assume that their international fin aid admission rate is significantly lower than their general admission rate as well.) You need every help you can get.

thanks for the info!! that’s what i thought as well. also because of the fact that i didn’t take part in much ECAs, i would really need to have strong numbers.

@ache you trying to lafa?
ah…you never discuss abt lafa in the official thread…huh?
