SAT INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FOR UK HELP

Hey guys,

I’ve already posted this on another forum but I didn’t find any help. I hope I’ll find help here.

Summer is starting and since I really wanted to do something to improve my chances to go to Oxford or another good UK university, I was like why not trying to do the SATs? I did a lot of research and did some pratice tests and got excellent results. I plan to study all summer and do 3 subjects tests and the SAT itself (I don’t know if the SAT matters that much, I basically just wanted to do the SATs subjects but maybe it’s better with it… I don’t know).

My question is : Will having good SATs scores (750-800 ish) help my chances to go there? I saw a post about it and they said it does but other people said they don’t see sats that much unless it’s for the minimum requirements. In my case, it is not because I’m not from the US and I have the French Bac.

And secondly, how can I send them my Sats scores? I’m not an American student and a girl told me that I won’t have the option to send them on the Internet. Should I ask my teachers to write my scores on the recommandation letters?

Thank you so much, hope I’ll find some answers,

If you’ll have a French Bac, you don’t need SAT’s for Oxford.

I know but maybe if I score great on them they will see it? I just want to send them as a bonus to make me stand out from another student who has the same grades. What do you think?

Help guys!!

You can send your scores the same way US students do: you have College Board send them to the university. YOu can request the scores to be sent when you sit the exam, or do it later. Either way, it’s a pretty straightforward process.

On the other hand, seconding skieurope, imo they are superfluous: the French Bac is rigorous enough, and there are fewer people applying with it than with SATs. But- a) nobody who posts here has any facts to go on and b) it sounds as if you have already made your mind up to do it.

No. I won’t do it finally. I don’t think it will help that much and it will be a waste of time. I’ll do experience stuff over summer and I think that UK universities will see it more.

Thank you
