SAT May 2012 Official Discussion

which ones were the REAL CR… aww damn… if its the group mentality one damn… that one was easy…

@congster, are you sure… really hoping it was years per inch
is anyone 100% sure?

@daniel with all these talk about the problems im not 100% but i did go back and change that answer. at first it didnt make sense to me how it would be 3 inches per year since the 200 years was larger than the 60 lines…

@daniel6738
im pretty sure its .3, i put 10/3 too but thats wrong

@congster i know! i was like wow i aced that group mentality

did anyone get -f(x) + 1 for one of the last problems on the math section. might have been the experimental one, not sure

wait so which passages were the real ones?

@congster123
texting
little girl and book
dancer

@bear111 thanks man… wow that test was easy then…

do u remember the vocabs in those three

yeah chagrin was one… bohemian… umm… sinecure… those were the hard ones but i guessed them right.

i guessed them all right! dankkkk. bohemian was a gamble and a half i knew none of the other choices

there were definitely other hard ones though…

like what? vocab is my strong point maybe i could help if you asked a question? i only remembered the hard hard ones.

one involved stolid buffalo. i guessed that. another was like laconic? but i didn’t put laconic i put a word that started with the letter a. i guessed vexing and provincial

Wait, where there more than 1 SAT reasoning test given today? Because I think I got a different one (based on the critical reading passages).

wait… that one? the buffalo herd? yeah the first word was gregarious the second was stolid i think… laconic wasnt a choice dude… thats a different question.

So, that question with the j ank k as variables. If I remember correctly, the question said 6 times j is 1 more than the square of k. So, 6j=k^2+1 . If you plug in 1/6 as j, you get 1. If you use 0 for k, you get 1, which means that the value for j is incorrect because it equals the value for k^2+1 rather than being 1 more than it. If you use 1 as k, then the value is 2. Once again, 1/6 cannot work. This suddenly occurred to me, so I might have missed something or part of the question… Let me know because a lot of people are saying 1/6 is the answer. If I’m wrong, please explain the correct reasoning. Thanks :)

no i know it was a different question but I’m trying to remember what that question was cuz it was hard

the moon landing and the astronaut’s reports being laconic
