Hello everyone. I am a junior at hs. I have been preparing for the SAT for about 2 months now. Already took the SAT once (waiting for scores ), but I do not think I did good ( I’m aiming for at least 2100s ). I have not done any kind of volunteering, except for the thing that I am a member of NHS. I used to be play in a band. I also play on 2 volleyball teams which take up a lot of my time. I would like to quit, but my parents won’t let me, even though they have to pay ****load of money so I can play. The practices are in the evenings, and I barely have time for anything else.
As I said I have been studying for the SAT for about 2 months, and I was trying to find a community service job. However, I realized I will not be able to do both because I simply will not have time to play volleyball and hw/studying for school. I have to choose one.
Thus my question is, which is more important; extracurriculars or preparing for SAT? I am pretty sure I can get about 1800 on the SAT without studying, but will it be enough with the EC to get into UIUC, NYU POLY or STEVENS Institute of Technology( I am mostly interested in these three schools )?
