<p>Yeah. I got 700v 660m and 650w but percentile was 95, 88, 90.</p>
<p>I’m sure UVa sees the percentile, but I don’t imagine that would help you.</p>
<p>The percentile ranking is how well you did compared to other students who took the same test that month. It might help some, but I imagine the percentiles are usually pretty consistent each month.</p>

<p>ok cavalier302, maybe we aren’t all “fountains of knowledge” and you are really harsh. it was a question. that is what this forum is for- freaking questions. you have already gotten slapped on the wrist for being a jerk, so why don’t u stop it. and must i reiterate the point that you are in college, and i’m sure there are a lot more exciting things to do that to post constantly on a message board and check it every day. or maybe you just have no friends. i don’t mean to be mean, but applying to college is a stressful time, the least you could be is supportive, or just keep your mouth shut.</p>
<p>I wasn’t harsh at all. I haven’t been a jerk and in several instance I’ve been supportive. If you want someone to stroke your hair as you cry on her shoulder, go to the parents’ forum. I try to be <em>honest</em> and give people the straight dope.</p>

Perhaps when you actually get to college you’ll understand the necessity of spending ten or more hours per day on your computer studying, or the desire to help out applicants to your school. Until then, perhaps you should keep your mouth shut and listen to what those with more experience have to say.</p>

<p>I’d rather someone be honest than string me along. I guess that’s why I don’t understand some of the people in the decision thread saying they’re going to call admissions on Monday and question their decision.</p>
<p>My old guidance counselor was hated by everyone, but it was because she was brutally honest with people. If you weren’t Ivy material, she told you flat out that you were wasting your money by applying, sending the scores, etc… Sounds like a lot of people here have too many “yes” men around them.</p>
<p>Another thing, does UVA heavily consider the writing section? I got a 650 but only a 6 essay which I thought was wrongly given.</p>
<p>If two people gave you a 3, then it’s more likely that you deserved it.</p>

the writing section is a bunch of crap because two graders read it and the add the scores (1-6 for each reader, total of 12 possible…) and if you get a reader having a bad day, you could get a bad score that isnt reflective
the SAT has a lot of fine-tuning to do with that section, in addition to the entire test, so dont sweat it unless you got under a 600</p>
<p>ps - a 6 is ridiculous if you’re applying to UVA, so that probably, again, was a fluke
also, ive never met someone who got a 12…i got an 11 once, and my english teacher was floored (i can write a tremendous amount thats straight on topic, in very little time, and add in catchy first/final sentences…my peers hated me for it when they had to grade my essays, my teachers loved it, and the key to the SAT is apperently fill the two pages anyways…and i thank my amazing english teachers in 10th-12th grade) and i have a ton of friends who got into UVA last year with 5s-9s…so, dont sweat it</p>

<p>My essay part does seem like an anamoly. I mean…700 critical reading, 700 Literature, A’s in AP Lang and Lit plus good essays in the app. I’m pretty sure I know how to write good.(lolz contradiction)</p>
