SAT Reading section replaced by TOEFL?

Hi fellow internationals and friends.

Is it true, that admission officers tend to overlook the SAT Verbal section for international students and instead choose the TOEFL as an indicator of the students english skills?

Colleges will take into consideration that English is not your first language and might forgive slightly below-average SAT verbal scores. However, most colleges will not simply ignore your verbal SAT score. The reading passages on the critical reading section of the SAT are more similar to college-level reading than anything on the TOEFL, so the section is inherently a good indicator of your preparation for an American classroom. If your SAT score is too low, it will set off a red flag.
