I have a question specifically for Dean J about SAT Subject Scores. I took SAT Subject tests last weekend, and I was wondering if it’s possible for these scores to be considered for my EA application? I know that UNC-CH will consider them, but I’m not sure of UVA’s policy. Online I believe it says that the preferred last date is the Oct test, so does this mean that it’s still possible for scores to be accepted after this test date? Thanks!

Dean J has an entire blog post about sending scores, the timing, etc. She answers your question specifically in #3, so keep reading. :)

If you need to ask Dean J a question directly quicker ways to reach her are via twitter, her blog, facebook, or email. She has stated she tries to help out here on CC whenever possible, but during the busy season of reading applications her primary communication is going to be those listed above.

Thanks, BlueIguana!

The fastest routes to me are definitely Twitter and the blog. My twitter and email clients give me push notifications. Blue is right…I don’t check College Confidential regularly during reading season (now through March).

Dean J, how are ACT scores considered for admission?
In of your posts, you said that UVA only considers the test with the highest ACT composite score… IN another post, you said the the highest subscores are taken across all tests, without re-calculating the overall composite score… Which one is accurate? Thanks.

Since we set up our paperless system in 2008, the system has picked the best of every category. A new composite has never been calculated.

Before that, we had to inclement the best scores by hand as we read :)

Again, Twitter or the blog is the best way to get to me. I don’t check CC regularly during reading season.
