SAT Writing thread

@monepo, I’m 99% sure it was on, because when I first read the sentence, I immediately thought it was going to read “drawing on paper”

Oh, well then E was right.

i thought we said “as” is correct and “like” is wrong?

@anonymousx37 Yes i believe so

OH. nvm hahaha i misread what you wrote sorry

anyone know the one that was like

_______my house for school, the clouds have turned dark. choices:

 1. since leaving 2. after leaving 3. since i left

i put “since i left” cause i thought “since leaving” would be applied to the clouds…but im not sure. any feedback?

nevermind!

"since i left " was correct

The consensus seems to be since I left, no? That’s what I put.

^It can’t be “since leaving” if it was “since leaving…, the clouds” the “since leaving” would modify the clouds would makes no sense.
It should be “Since I left…, the clouds”

This writing section was definitely more tricky than usual…

For the question about the hedgehogs, one of the last ones in id-ing sentence errors, was it no error? It seemed like there was nothing wrong with the sentence, but I’m doubting myself because it seems unlikely that they would but such an easy problem near the end of the section.

The clouds have turned dark since leaving my house for school… wrong.

^ was that the one with back? it shouldve been “on their backs…” cause somewhere in there it mentioned bellies. also hedgehogs is already plural.

or is that a different question? i forget

The hedgehog’s BACKS, not back. I don’t remember what choice that was, but there was definitely an error with noun agreement.

@studyharderbro The hedgehogs one had an error. The error was at “back” which needed to be “backs”

ah darn thanks

how many no errors did u guys get? i think i got like 3? was one of them about an artist? like although the artist didn’t achieve recognition when he painted…now hes seen as one of the best?

@ibelieveso i think that one might have been no error but i recall another question that had to do with an artist…
it went something like this:

The artist received recognition in the 1965 exhibit with his painting, which he created by painting using thick oil paints.

the word “created” was underlined… i chose that as the error b/c i thought it had to “had created” since he obviously drew the painting before the 1965 exhibit?

^I put that as well with the same rationale. Wasn’t 100% sure though

@anonymous

it was no error. u could have both and it would be correct.
