How important are SAT results for international student application?

im too embarassed to public mine…i dont know wheather to stop or continue preparing application for the following colleges:

Reed
Macalester
Whitman
Lake Forest
Gettysburg

Google each school’s Common Data Set, Section C7 to C9.

E.g., Reed’s is at [Reed College 2008-09 Common Data Set SecC](Reed College 2008-09 Common Data Set SecC - Institutional Research - Reed College)

SAT scores are usually very important for international students because they are the only number on your application that’s familiar to an American admissions office. It is even more important if you are applying for financial aid.

That being said, colleges know that your native language is not English and that you are not used to the format of the SAT and will take that into consideration. There are also other factors that can make an international application very attractive: for example, being from a country that is not currently represented in the student body.

ok,I’ll keep that in mind that
I guess I’ll try to tak it again, though I know that there is only 1 college from these that is still going to except my results in march!!

You can retake the Jan SAT and receive your scores in Feb. Yeah, I’m retaking the SAT in Jan too, and I’m really having mixed emotions right now… so stressed.

it really is!

well… just do your best. I advice that you should continue with the apps. Retake the Jan SAT and use the rush score reporting if the colleges request it.

I’m applying to Whitman also. but heck, 10% admission for intl’s is crazy. I can only think that internationals would sparkle well in their eyes thru the essays. They want diversity and we should in everyway strive to show that in us. I also heard that Whitman takes the personal essay very seriously.

So just try your best.
