I have wondered whether this story has been amplified not only for the normal media / advertising advantages… but also as a distraction from other US/World issues (no discussion please on this observation because it could meander into politics).

Am I the only one wondering why it took more than a week to come up with these doorbell cam pictures? The FBI is involved, for Pete’s sake … they couldn’t find this stuff sooner? Time has always been of the essence in this case.

Edited to say that I saw a piece on NBC explaining how they found the images, and let me just say … yikes. The FBI didn’t do it, but they hired private contractors. These folks know everything about us, and it doesn’t go away.

I think it’s because they had to get the cooperation of a private company (Nest).

They just released, but that doesn’t mean they just got the pics. There are reasons they don’t release everything immediately.

They did just get the images, and they released them right away because they may very well lead to solid information. The reason it took so long is that it involved “retrieving residual data from backend systems.” It’s not something just anyone can do, so experts had to be located and hired. It shows that information is out there even when we think it’s not. It’s kind of mind blowing.

I saw speculation that the pictures were released when they determined that all the ransom notes were from imposters.

Nest is now google. Google doesn’t typically cough up private info easily.

I don’t have a ring camera, I don’t want my husband to know about all of my packages lol!

Honestly though, I don’t like the way there are surveillance cameras everywhere. I’m not going to do that.

I don’t think it helps much. All of my neighbors have them.

CNN reporting a SWAT team has been “activated.” Hoping something will happen soon. I put activated in quotes, because it’s unclear what that means. They might just be staging in preparation for moving in somewhere.

Has it been discussed at all that the kidnappers would need Nancy’s prescriptions in order to keep her alive? I haven’t seen any reporting on whether her meds were left at the home or if they were missing. If they were left at home and the kidnappers were prepared with their own supply, that seems like an avenue to pursue.

Maybe they are looking at pharmacies but not reporting it?

This question has been bothering me. Reports were that she didn’t show up at church. How does she usually get to church on Sundays? I can’t imagine she drives herself…but maybe she does. Anyone know?

I saw, I believe on CNN, that she did services online. Seems she had a regular group that joined. But, then I also read she joined this group in person to watch the service. If I am not mistaken, it was the feed from Savannah’s church.

Like all the other information out there, I don’t know what to believe!

I assumed that she drove herself, and that she was driven to and from dinner the night before because she doesn’t want to drive in the dark. But I’m just speculating.

Did y’all just see that interview on CNN with the alleged suspect’s MIL? Wow.

Person detained after a traffic stop in Rio Rico.

Rio Rico is a more rural area of southern Arizona, located off of I-19 which connects Tucson to Nogales (Nogales is right next to the border w/Mexico). Rio Rico is not a heavily populated area & the town has one grocery store (an IGA market). There’s always been a lot of border patrol activity in the area because I-19 has always tended to be a big drug trafficking route.

Rio Rico is not in the same county as Tucson…Tucson’s in Pima county, but Rio Rico is in Santa Cruz county.
