Say it Here ‘Cause You Can’t Say it Directly—The Get it Off Your Chest Thread (NO REPLIES TO OTHER POSTS)

Ordered underwear from Amazon. Package comes today - no underwear - instead a double pack of pop-tarts. What a huge warehouse packaging failure. I have to return the pop-tarts (luckily easy to do with Whole Foode nearby).

Stop telling the college kid that you’re coming to visit next month w/her aunt when the 2 of you haven’t even bought a plane ticket yet. Just makes you both look like flakes.

I’m sad today and can only say that here. H and I played pickleball with D1 and her H last night and had a great time. Afterwards we went to grab a bite to eat and D1 told us that her and her H are planning to move to the Northeast in the summer. Her H is from CT and the reason they are moving is to buy a home and start a family. I am so sad that San Diego is too expensive for a them as a two income couple. D1 is a teacher and her H has a very good job as a consultant with KPMG (in his 10th year), but with starter homes here at $1 million it is not a place they can afford. Our SIL first has to see if he can transfer his job back there (he transferred from there to SoCal 8 years ago) and decide what area they need to live in for his work. They are hoping to be within an hour drive of where SIL’s parents live as they would like to have family close by.
I always thought we would be the close by grandparents one day, but it’s not to be. H and I will travel to see them a lot when they move since we are all very close. I never want D1 to feel bad about moving forward with her life with her H so I will keep this to myself.

To take my mind of the LA firestorms- yesterday after bike riding I completed my tax forms and am now in the queue for when the feds and state open their e-file systems.

Just trying to keep busy.

You are a Debbie Downer looking for a pity party. Grow up. Unrelated to CC.

I love that you called us last night to share that you’re buying the engagement ring today. We don’t forget for a single minute that, as an adult, you don’t NEED to be telling us any of this. But you want to. And that feels so good. To know that you want to share your excitement with us.
The two of you make a wonderful couple. I’m so excited for this proposal. Summer can’t come soon enough. I’m good with secrets but this is a BIG one.

Why in the world do females have to be so mean & passive-aggressive & lousy to each other? Getting through life is hard enough. You don’t need somebody who you thought was a close friend to poop on you and mock you.

And yeah, I’m talking about you, Butthead Becky. You were super mean. You don’t have to step on other people in order to feel better about yourself. You should be embarrassed by your behavior.

Five days late, but UPS got the box there and in one piece. Yay!

Other than my sister (who is sworn to secrecy), I’m only sharing this here in CC-land. Now you all are sworn to secrecy, too.

About 10 yr ago, we bought one of those pop-up tent thingies at Costco. The sort that you see people use as shade at farmer’s markets and stuff like that. DH bought it to use at all the swim meets that our kids did at the time (about once a month there was an all-weekend long swim meet). Plus we used it regularly for meets that our kids’ team would host a couple of times a year.

It’s been about 8 years now since that thing has had any use at all. We even moved it 6 yr ago to the house we’re in now and it’s sat in the garage the entire time, not used one little bit.

Our area has an amazing service. Free bulk trash pick up every 5-6 wk, free with the cost of your regular trash service. This week was bulk trash pick up. Sort of forgot about it until I saw everybody’s piles at the curb at the start of the week. So that day after DH had gone into the office (I telecommute a lot), I put the Costco pop-up tent at the curb. And a few hours later, it was gone (bulk trash pick up hadn’t occurred yet).

So to whoever the random person it was who trash picked the pop up tent, THANK YOU.

Has my DH noticed? No.

Are we going to announce to him that the pop-up tent is gone? No.

Don’t try to place the blame for this on me. There’s a reason why I call you the bad apple.

Why in the h.ll are timeshare companies allowed to do such sleazy business? My father passed away in October, and I’m trying to help my 80-year-old mother clean up her finances, etc. And there’s this d.mn RV resort membership that we can’t simply cancel.

I feel like if I can call doctors and connect the dots, it would also be amazingly easy for the doctors to TALK TO EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF ME. At this point I feel like I deserve a paycheck. yeesh.

Gosh, it would be amazing to hear, “We worked together to accomplish this.” A girl can wish.

Nothing like watching the story of a traffic fatality & realizing that you know the victim to give you a gut punch. We worked together when he was a work study student, and he was killed crossing the busy intersection from the parking garage to the office. I crossed that intersection at that time of day so many times. I was greeted with a smile by this young man when I walked into work so many times. How unfair for him to be taken so young by someone who ran a red light. May he rest in peace.

COBRA company, I called last week asking for my insurance policy # because I had an appointment the next day. The insurance company had no record of my insurance. Oh, that may take up to 2 weeks to resolve? Great. So I have no choice but to pay for the visit out of my own pocket and get reimbursed later. Great. Then you send me 4 emails about how the case has been resolved. Really? None of those emails includes a policy number and the insurance company still has no record of me. Great.
