Say it Here ‘Cause You Can’t Say it Directly—The Get it Off Your Chest Thread (NO REPLIES TO OTHER POSTS)

I found the song my dad used to sing to me in his native language when I was a kid… on YouTube! Thank you random strangers who posted it there! Made my day.

Please stop posting about animals that need to be adopted in places that are MANY thousands of miles from where we both live. You post at least 10 a day, and I block all of them.

Happy to share the local ones…although you have that more than covered.

I have been on the phone with the IRS tax help line for 1 hour. I have received no valuable information and have been on hold most of that time. I am guessing I will get hung up on “accidentally” soon and they can’t call you back. The guy will “try to be cautious.”

Four years ago I was in this thread worrying that putting all your chips in one super reach basket with very little Plan b was crazy but I was behind you. Well you not only got in, but you crushed it and last week you got the brass ring you were hoping for since you were in sixth grade. I’ve already told you how proud and happy I am this is working out, but damn, girl, this has been so stressful. 75 days to graduation and I will be so relieved when you hold that diploma over your head.

And of course my IRA rollover saga is not yet complete. Today I receive in the mail my check from the bank to Morgan Stanley with a letter saying they couldn’t deposit it because they (Morgan Stanley) couldn’t find my account! (Bangs head against the wall!)

I call the number on the form and tell them what happened. Give them the account number where they say “oh. It’s one of those accounts. We have to transfer you to this number.” This account was set up with my old company 35ish years ago and it was bought/taken over/whatever by various companies along the way. I suspect this is the problem - of course 6 months ago everything went fine with an identical rollover!

After 30 min I finally get to a guy who seems to understand the situation. He finds my form I mailed with the check and says “everything looks right. Did you mail this form in separately?” No. The check was stapled to it. I’m looking at the holes in the returned check. He was going to look into what exactly happened and to hopefully stop the next two dinky checks from being returned and tell me exactly how to best get this check back to them and deposited.

It’s been 3.5 hours and after 5pm east coast time. Still no call back. I suppose maybe he’s further west and there’s still time, but I suspect I’ll have to do this song and dance again tomorrow. I’m about ready to tear everything up and forget I even have this money. I probably lost more in the stockmarket today than it’s worth.

Just musing and this is not a place for replies but tired of hearing I am the beneficiary of the social security money they borrowed and I own. I am the owner, no?

My IRS call took 90 minutes, but they gave me an answer that was in line with what I thought/aligned with my research. I was on hold way more than I was talking to anyone, and I was put on hold for “5-7 minutes” (that’s what they said but it was longer sometimes) at least 8 times.

My aunt out of state died. Trying to coordinate arrangements will send me to my own grave! I know you all relate.

Totally, totally, totally fed up. Every one of my last work breaks, you have managed to injure yourself so you can’t do anything, and instead we do your preferred option of staying home and doing nothing (sprained ankle, broken toe)! This time, you sliced a chunk out of your finger while trying to cut bread while we were both upset because YOU had given D24 permission not to take her Prozac for a week because she left it at school, and you didn’t tell me. We were both upset this morning because she had a giant meltdown on campus, and once you told me what was going on, I was worried she’d be suicidal! She’s okay, but you just left for the urgent care after avoiding it all day, with half an hour left in their time, and you are bitching passive-aggressively because you are worried you’ll end up in the ER. Be an adult! And in fact, maybe you should wonder about what I want to do for fun! Maybe you should not think that I want to sit around and stare at you all day when I’m not working. Nobody wants that! Not even your mom wants that!

When we make a plan or a commitment, especially involving other people, we keep it. Apparently others don’t. It’s so inconsiderate. When did people become so discourteous? Rude and disrespectful!

I do not miss you. You were judgmental, passionately opinionated, and couldn’t handle it when somebody didn’t agree with what you thought our family should do. I’m glad you have moved on to go harass somebody else.

Message to myself. Do not skip reading this thread for 3 weeks. Too much happens and it takes forever to catch up. Oh, and what is a “Parents’ Social Lounge”? I want to still be able to have food when I read!!!

Well, that took an ugly turn fast. But I suppose in today’s climate people feel like that’s just fine.
