Scantron erasing

How sensitive are the scantron with erasures? Am I supposed to erase until the eraser has white spots on it, or does that mean the paper is damaged and it won’t work? I usually erase to that point, but I was wondering what’s safest? This is for upcoming regents in case the machines are different than sat/ap

It depends on what form. If it’s a light gray bubble, you should usually be fine. Just don’t erase so hard that the ink on the circle starts coming off.

Again, it really depends on the form. On some forms, the lead comes off easily and on other forms, you really have to erase hard.

What I usually do is draw a dash through what I want to bubble (that way it’s easier to erase). When there are 5-10 minutes left on the test, I will go back and bubble through all the dashed lines.
