SCEA - Class of 2011

I heard that was intellectual incest. And that universities are hesitant to let you in again.

And can’t you do that program where you stay 5 years and get your master’s too?

hahahaha…there was this story on CC (I can’t remember if it was an older post or not) where some students got together when graduation got near and were saying “Hell no, we won’t go.” (This is a Stanford story, by the way.)

Aww. How touching… I’ve hit the biggest wall in all my homeworks. All halfway done.

lol I hear you devaaki

Sad. Ain’t it? all my apps are halfway, my papers are halfway/not started. My exams are half studied for. my ECs are half taken care of. ARGHH I NEED THIS DECISION!

The worst part is that they probably already decided, and are just holding on to make sure they get everyones forms and stuff, and can release it all at the same time.

Sadly, that’s probably true. Sorry if this is a redundant question, BearsandBruins, but what sport were you recruited for?

Devaaki, at least you’re halfway done!!! I feel like I’m not getting anything done at all… :(

I can’t wait for this craziness to be over. Sometimes it feels so close (esp. when I dreamed those couple of dreams in the last two weeks…), and sometimes it all feels so far away. 2.5 weeks is usually nothing, but right now? It feels like an eternity…

I have so many things to do during the two-point-five, but it feels like it will NEVER EVER COME. ):

ughh…
so which would be worse? Deferral or rejection??

lol… such positive thoughts aren’t they

for me rejection hehe :D

Neither a deferral or a rejection.

Only acceptance, thankyouverymuch! ;)

trying not to be a downer, but after a month of thought, i highly doubt i’ll get accepted. just so many qualified people last year who were rejected.

That’s exactly what’s been haunting me for the past few weeks! Nov. 15 cannot come soon enough, yet I’m beginning to dread it a little. The weird combination of anticipation and apprehension is tweaking my nerves like crazy! :)

On the other hand…which safety schools are you applying to? Are there any schools that are more stats-oriented? I have a few less selective schools on my list that I really like, but I’m worried that they aren’t safeties after all, or they won’t like my essays, or something. Anyone else having that problem?

After a month of anticipation, I’ve sort of become indifferent towards the whole thing. Just trying to focus on my applications for my “safety schools”.

on a happier note, there are just another five posts to go before we hit the big 1000.

ROCKao –> Exactly like me! :D

I’ve been guaranteed acceptance at Davis and Santa Barbara, so they’re already there. In any case, if I don’t get into Cal or UCLA, then I’ll have Davis to fall back on. Oh, and SUNY Stony Brook. I think Stanford is my only reach. All my other schools are matchs (Cal and UCLA) and safeties.

Wow, pyleela, it’s great that you already have guaranteed acceptance at some good schools! I live in Taiwan, and the US admission process is still a little confusing. I’m ‘almost’ guaranteed to National Taiwan University, the best university in Taiwan, but nothing’s sure yet as admissions exams aren’t until February. But I really want to go to US for college, and I’m worried that if I don’t have enough safety schools, I won’t get in anywhere and will have to stay in Taiwan. After all the preparations I’ve made for US colleges, that would be very disappointing to say the least. :(

Well, all we can do now is hope for the best! Good luck, everyone! :)

Yea good luck to everyone!

Goodness, all my materials finally reached Stanford. A tad late lol.

You too Rockao, edwinkls, and everyone else.

Yarr… only got the 999th post. Oh well. I’ll live. I’ll make it better than the 1000th post. or maybe someone will post while im typing this and I’ll get the 1k. Doesn’t matter. At least I noted it’s passing.

apprehension

Reserved for later… hahaha! =D
