I have my schedule of classes, but how do I know what books I will need?
Where can I find that out and where do you recommend that I get the books from?
Online or on campus?
Thanks!

You can either check some of the book sites- sbsmsu.com, spartanbook.com, etc.

Or there is a link on the schedule page. Go to schedule.msu.edu. Click on the “Schedule Builder” tab. Sign in with your MSU info. Where there is a list of 5 green links, underneath the semester drop down menu, there is a link that says “Textbooks and Supplemental Material”. That will give you your textbooks :)

Thank you very much! That is VERY helpful!

^^ cool thanks Romani! Not even I knew about the schedule of courses textbooks button.

^ Haha, you’re welcome. I found it on accident about 3 months ago. It’s what happens when your computer randomly clicks around >.<.

But it is helpful for the random classes that don’t post textbooks.

Yeah, I think the textbook thing is new this year. It’s really nice knowing the books so far in advance. All of you new people should make sure you check out amazon.com and half.com, you can save a lot of money that way.

I’m on the wait list for Spanish 201 and 202, but I’m number 30-something so I’m not too hopeful haha
I’m planning on adding one more class to each semester though.

^ Have you tried emailing the teacher directly to see if they can give you an override?

And don’t worry, you’ll probably get in. Class adds/drops opens for upperclassmen tomorrow so I would follow it pretty closely.

I didn’t think to do that, thanks for the tip! :)

wow zhongwen why are you taking both 1st and 2nd year madison classes in one year (If you don’t mind me asking?)

I’m a transfer student (technically going to be a sophomore), and the English class I took at my previous university did not count towards the writing courses at MSU. My advisor said I should take both MC111 and MC112 along with the two courses for my major.
