Scheduling Conflict

This seems like a stupid policy. Try to get your parents to push harder on the school, since the more sensible schedule would be:

1st (MW) college English
1st (TuTh) college history
(41 minutes commuting time between)
2nd AP physics 1
3rd free
4th orchestra
5th precalculus
6th AP CS principles
7th French 3

If your and your parents’ pushing hard on the school does not work, is there any physics offered 3rd period so that you can take it then and have 7th for French 3?

no ap physics is not taught in 3rd period and I do not want to take regular physics because I need college credit

AP Physics 1 has a 60% failure rats on the exam, so college credit should not be the determing factor. You may think now that you will be in the 40% that passes (and you may be), but a number of students this week were unpleasantly surprised when AP scores were released.

On another note, APCSP is not a core class. That can be sacrificed to make room for French. There are some bureaucratic hurdles that tou and you parents may need to jump through to get the schedule juggled; none of us here can help you with that. Similarly, nobody here will say that you don’t need to worry about trying to fit French in.

AP physics 1 is not all that useful for credit anyway. It is supposed to emulate a non-calculus-based physics course for biology majors, but (a) some colleges do not accept it as such, because their biology major physics courses use some calculus, and (b) many biology majors are pre-meds, so they need to take physics in college anyway (and it may be better for them not to have AP physics credit to avoid having to mark a “repeat” when applying to medical schools).

never mind y’all, i am able to take french 3 now
