OK, everyone. I need a way to dig out of a problem, and …some input (up at my usual hour, of course):

First, we obeyed the stupid rules and my D filled out the common app form all by herself, including the basic data-- which I didn’t print & read before it went out…she’s in boarding school - dong this from a distance is my only excuse…

So NOW I print the thing, and I see goofs, one of which I think is important enough that I have to contact the schools about (all 16 of them :<O &^$$%&^**@!!!&&^&@@). Anyone else as stupid as me by not either doing, or not checking their theater kid’s common app basic data (of course, we went over all the essays and supps like monsters), and then have to figure out how to correct a problem? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Second, as I’ve been doing the audition schedule — as opposed to not doing the basic data entry on the Common App as I should have- see above :<O — I’m trying to schedule one audition per day (thereby trying to minimize the mega-stress on my D, who’s not the most stellar student on the planet, and has created her own additional academic hurdles in addition to typical theater kid stresses). So far, I’ve been successful re: scheduling - only 4 to go…

But I may bump into doubling up come Feb. I seriously don’t want to do the 2 a day thing. How has everyone else been scheduling these things?

Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh I’m sooooooooooo stressed (esp about the goof on the Common App-I really thought I didn’t need to sit on top of her shoulders)…

Nalajen - I can verify on the West Coast 2 in one day is more than fine - it actually keeps the kids busy, and alleviates the anxiety of waiting - For my own 2 kids (both USC BFA’s) I scheduled up to 4 a day - That may sound like a lot, but last year my son even decided to do a walk-in on his heaviest day of auditions… because he wanted to stay “warmed up” -

As a coach, I organize my students audition schedule and do a spreadsheet for each student. They usually have 2 auditions a day (if they are MT) and 2 to 3 a day for straight acting.

BTW I can totally relate to the academic hurdles - my son did the same thing. Thankfully I can attest that 99% of his audition schools outweighed the audition over his academic record.

Best of luck to your daughter - and try not to stress too much over the application part, the schools do understand mistakes :)

Thanks to both of you! I called the schools’ admissions offices, e-mailed the correction - no sweat…

As to auditions, we’re in NY and have managed to get a great schedule except Rutgers and Juilliard, which we’re still waiting for, but should also be ok. D is doing one a day, also good since everything is in the NYC area. She did MMC today, which calmed her nerves a lot (first audition, and far from 1st choice so it worked out great).

Thanks and best of luck to your kids too! :<)
