What the heck is Scholar Snapp and why is it on my common application? Is it legitimate or simply a CollegeBoard-esque scam to sell contact information to colleges and other affiliated organizations?
Seconding this question…
It’s a website connected to your Common App. If you check ‘yes,’ then you will be prompted to their (Scholar Snapp’s) website. You create an account, and your personal information from the Common App is shown on there (such as name, birthday, parent information, etc.). Basically they give you a list of scholarships (such as Coca Cola and Dell Scholars), and you can check the box if you want to receive more information about that scholarship. I checked “yes” for the Scholar Snapp part of the Common App, and I was able to log onto the website after submitting an application. Personally, I do not think it is that helpful, honestly. Basically, it’s a way for companies giving away scholarships to see your information. I would not check the “yes” box, but that’s just my opinion.
