You have to register for your visit.

thanks mttest

that’s what I’m feeling, ctl. D has never given me the pittconnect info so I’ve been wondering if she received the announcements about honors visits.

thanks, MTnest.

jkeil, i actually think we got a letter on it a few weeks ago. Still the contact from Pitt has gone down a lot lately so my guess is everything must be on pittconnect.

will check. thank you, ctl.

We are visiting too, admitted to College of Engg.

DS '14 received a Full Tuition Scholarship with an invitation to apply for the chancellor’s scholarship. The letter was dated January 13, but he just received it today. Thrilled to have this option and he’s excited about applying for the full ride. I’m thrilled to see his hard work over four years rewarded.

hey, congratulations, Dave_N! That’s something for a dad to be proud of. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Is it too late for me to get a scholarship? I was accepted for neuroscience around October and also accepted into the honors college.

orchid, no, not too late. did your acceptance letter indicate u r in scholarship pool?

no, orchid, it’s not. as you can see by Dave_N’s post, as of Jan 13 pitt is still inviting people to the Chancellors competition. We’re all just waiting to see how it all turns out.

If my acceptance letter did not indicate I was in the running for a scholarship, does that mean there’s no chance?

@Dave_N

Congratulations to you and your DS, thats a great News.
Can you post some HS Stat of your DS if you dont mind…

Savannahstar, I believe everyone who applies to Pitt is in the running for scholarships. The Admissions Office appears to be trying to find their Chancellors Scholarships first; these are the full-rides; they are by invitation. The ones invited who don’t get the Chancellors get a full tuition scholarship. At the same time, Admissions also appears to be selecting outstanding candidates who don’t quite make the grade for the Chancellors or the full-ride scholarships and giving them (if they are oos) 15K scholarships. So it appears right now as if they’ve started at the top and are trying to give those away first. Hang in there.

Congrats to your son, Dave_N!

correction, Savannahstar, everyone who applies to Pitt BY JANUARY 15TH is in the running for scholarships.

That’s not necessarily true. When I was accepted I got a 10k OOS scholarship + the invitation for Chancellors. Not all the Chancellors invites get full tuition as I believe many are state-capped (i.e. only 3 full tuition for students from Colorado, 5 for California, etc.) but if many good students apply they still want them to attempt for the Chancellors.

This is the first time I’ve heard anyone say this, AO. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone have this experience this year on the Pitt forum. First, all the reported merit scholarships have been 15K, I believe, and they haven’t been associated with Chancellors. The ones who reported being invited to Chancellors but didn’t get it rec’d the full tuition so far this year. I’ve never heard anything about state-capped full-tuition scholarships.

how long ago were you admitted, AO?

AO or anyone else out there able to correct me?
