If you are out of range in one area, however are exceptionally compelling in other another area(s) there are times given a number of factors (like geography) that they have historically gone outside of these posted perimeters and awarded merit.

Was that vague enough for you? In other words, it has happened but there is no defined president for what triggers an exception. The only thing you can do is apply, consider it a reach due to merit (or a likely admit/deny), and make sure your list is otherwise well rounded.

Thank you to all!! She is a junior so she will take the tests, put the best possible package together, and apply. We will just have to see how this all pans out.

Ditto nbond. I literally run to our mailbox daily. Every other year scholarships were out October/November. Now that we’re waiting, it’s taking longer. Definitely feeling anxious, but somewhat hopeful. Maybe soon.

I mentioned this on another thread but when I talked to admissions around mid-October, they said they had not started reviewing yet for scholarships (at least that’s what that person said) and they would start sending scholarship notifications in December or later. Again, not sure what is true but considering it seems no one has heard, it seems like that could be accurate info.

Maybe they realized that it is hard for some kids to have all of their info in by August or early September? It seems as though in previous years scholarship info began in September - this can be stressful to students who do not begin school until after Labor Day and can’t get their official transcript sent until then. Then again, maybe I am overthinking this…who knows.

I also spoke to an admissions counselor and I was told that the first rounds of scholarship offers should be mailed out by Christmas break, with remaining ones being mailed late January/early Feb.

That is so weird I just spoke with them concerning all the duplicate mail we are receiving and asked about the scholarships and the woman answered “today - March.” I give up the lurking at the mail box and assume this is another piece of the waiting game.

@ eg1995 - Obviously for top 5-6% you are good on class rank unless your test scores do not reflect that class rank, which is doubtful. What are you asking?
