I received 2 local scholarships and the checks were made out in my name. My father had me deposit the checks into my savings and I plan to report them to UVa. Is that all? I am really worried that I am missing something or that I am going about it all wrong.

Thanks!

As of 2 years ago, that was it - you just needed to report them online ASAP to UVa on the applicable financial aid chart on SIS.

Some scholarships send the money directly to the university, while others send the checks to the student. In either case, they need to be reported if you are eligible for any financial aid.

I believe UVa would allow a student to reduce their work study and/or loans consistent with the amount of the scholarships.
