Yeah, same… I’m a Junior and I know this is my last chance to have some sort of tangible evidence to represent the blood, sweat, and tears I spent on writing to colleges. It can be disheartening to imagine all of that effort manifesting into nothing, especially since there’s not so many ways that we can prove our merit or hard work in the arts other than awards.
On the other hand, I hope you keep your chin up and remember that where there’s a will, there’s a way. I’m sure there are many ways out there that you can testify to all that time and effort you poured into your writing, other than this specific award, and even if that doesn’t happen I’m sure there’s a college that will recognize your potential (I mean, the whole college apps process is centered on writing! Let yourself shine!). I know this is a really stressful process, but I hope even if the contest doesn’t yield the results you were hoping for, you will continue to let your voice shine.
@spinnypeeps Aww thanks, that means a lot. Although I really want a national medal I know deep down this isn’t verification of my work or talent or anything like that. I will still be really excited to write/create and keep that passion. Good luck tomorrow & thank you for reminding me this isn’t the end-all be-all :))

I hope everyone on this thread, including myself, will try and remember that this award doesn’t define who we are if it doesn’t turn out the way we want it to-- although it may be really difficult in the moment.

Hi! I’m new to College Confidential and Scholastics, so I was wondering when does Scholastic release the results? Is it Pacific Time or Eastern Time? Thank you!
@SilverInk Eastern Time. Scholastic usually releases earlier than 12pm ET, though. Maybe expect 10-11am ET instead?
