I checked my regional affiliate site and it didn’t say anything about regional award dates so do any of you know if all regional awards are released on January 31? Thanks!
Hello everyone! I’ve been pretty absent on this thread, but this will be my third year doing scholastic! I My deadline is tonight (eek!), but I’m just hoping my forms got to my affiliate on time since we mailed them pretty late and my dashboard still says “not paid.” Anyways, good luck to everyone submitting work this year! I wish everyone the absolute best!
@beautifulchaos Absolutely! I struggled super hard with my portfolio. I had like 6 solid old pieces, but I was totally stuck on the last two for like three months. I figured it out, but at pretty much the last possible minute ;(. I’m feeling okay about it now, but whew was it a struggle!
Does anyone know the official Gold Key release date?
I know for my state, results come out January 31st
@kdm1582 I think the national “Regional Notification Day” is January 31st. That’s what the blog said today. Some regions might release results earlier though; I know in the past my region’s results have come out around the 20th.

Hey everyone. I am a HS freshman and just learned that I won a Silver Key for an art submission that I worked really hard on. Even though it is a local award and won’t go onto the national contest, I am super excited and grateful. I think all writers and artists have unique imaginations and big hearts. Also, writing and artwork are so personal and subjective that they don’t really translate well to contests, like maybe a spelling bee or Jeopardy. Anyway, good luck to everyone and don’t ever get discouraged by a contest.
You’re already doing amazing tuff as a freshman! Keep it up and you’ll soar high 
Does anyone know what the awards ceremonies are like? I just got an email saying I received a regional (MA) silver key for my novel submission. The email said the certificate would be mailed to my house, so are there other reasons I should attend the ceremony?
@inflorescent I think they vary by region, but I always have a great time at mine! They exhibit some work and do some other interesting stuff. It’s fun to celebrate you accomplishments with other writers. Still, I don’t know what your region does, so I’m not sure!

Short story, which is weird, b/c I thought my script was waaay better and I didn’t even get anything for my script.
