How do you find out if you won an award or not?
Does it show up on your account or do you receive an email?
@gPdnjs02 I received an email. But I think each region sends their emails at different times than others
I received a gold key for my portfolio and one for an individual poem. I was very surprised to hear that the individual poem won a gold key, because it was my throwaway piece (I almost didnāt include it in my portfolio at all!). This truly shows how subjective Scholastic is. I donāt know about silver keys or honorable mentions yet; my region will send those out on the 31st.
@gPdnjs02 I got an email about my silver key. I actually though notifications were supposed to come out on the 31st, so I was surprised to get mine early. Plus, I submitted a couple of art pieces (and so did some of my friends) and no one has heard back yet, so I doubt everything has been announced yet.
It depends on your region guys. Some peopleās regions notify their winners earlier/before the regional announcements. Just because the regional announcements are January 31st doesnāt mean your region will be releasing decisions on January 31st. My region happens to release our decisions that very same day so I have to wait ātil Friday but other people have already gotten their notifications. So itās completely normal really.

I just got a gold key and two silvers for my art
and since Iāve been stalking cc about prep school admissions, I randomly searched up scholastic art and writing award stuff, and to my surprise, thereās actually a thread for this :0
adding on the topic of the randomness of this, the gold key I got was for the painting I least expected to get gold for so???

@wistfulwords LOL thank you! And yeah it did! I was so shocked that I jumped and sort of screamed? I was in class when it happened and I scared my classmate sitting next to me. She split her drink and I felt really bad

I just realized I accidentally made a typo in my writing submission. Does this immediately mean I canāt win an award?

@moonlitpoems I made several errors (one word completely misspelled in a really obvious way) and my piece still won a National Best in Grade Award. I also realized I completely omitted a word in my gold key poem this yearā¦ so I wouldnāt worry lol.
