This essay is about soil and germination.</p>

<pre><code> There are six types of soil known to us. They are sandy, clay, silt, loamy, peaty, and chalky soil. Sandy soils have a rough texture. They are formed by weathered rocks such as limestone, quartz, and granite. If sandy soil contains enough natural resources it is easy to nurture seeds. Silt soil is known to be the most abundant soil. Silt is usually composed of minerals and other resources. It is also made up with weathered rocks and plants. Its weak soil structure allows it to be easily worked with. Clay soil is wet, sticky, lumpy and pliable soil. Clay soils are composed of different natural resources and with few other types of gasses. It happens to be very acidic ands it requires a lot of water. Blue or grey clays show poor ventilation. Red color clay soil indicates good ventilation. Loamy soil is considered the perfect soil. It contains 40% of sand, 40% of silt, and 20% of clay soil. Peaty soil is very acid and contains few nutrients. It has an advantage in springtime because it is excellent for plant growth if fertilizer is added. Chalky soil is very acidic, which means its PH is higher than seven. It is a light brown soil that contains many stones varying in size. Chalky soil has poor quality and needs regular treating. It is not a good source of soil for plants.
A seed is a container that carries all structures necessary for a plant life. There are many different types of seeds. Two examples of seeds are the persimmon and green bean seed. Persimmon seeds store food sources in the endosperm and green bean seeds have a small amount of endosperm but oversized seed leaves. Endosperm is a food supply that is used by the embryo to help the growth of the seed. The outer covering of the seeds is called the seed coat which protects the embryo from damages. Seed coat comes in varieties of thicknesses. It could be thin, hard or even flimsy. Other parts of a seed include the radicle and the plumule. Radicle is another name for the roots and the plumule contains the leaves and the stem.
A plant is a living thing that makes its own food in multicellular organisms through a process called photosynthesis. Basic parts of most all plants are roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. There are over 260 species of plants known to us. The roots provide support by stabilizing the plant. They also absorb water and nutrients. The roots can store sugar and carbohydrates to carry out other functions of life. Stems help carry water and nutrients to the leaves. The leaves make food through a process called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis can also store and supplies food for the plant.
Photosynthesis is a process by which a plant produces its food using energy. It uses sunlight energy to create carbon dioxide and water to create sugar from the soil. Photosynthesis comes from two Greek words meaning light and putting together. Photosynthesis is found in chloroplasts. Chloroplast is an organelle which is found only in a plant cells. The formula for photosynthesis is 6CO2 + 6H2O –> 6O 2 + C6 H12O 6 + 6H2 O.
