Please name any schools in New York that would be good for someone who wants to go to med or dental school. I heard that its better for a school to be less challenging so your GPA looks good for med school. Lets face it, I am not good enough to get into a school with grade inflation so I’d rather hear of some less challenging schools.

3.3 GPA… hopefully a 1900-2000 on SAT

I have heard of University of Buffalo and University of Rochester and they sound nice

check out the SUNYs and find which one you like best… maybe stony brook? they cost less which will help because you will be paying for med school later on (?)

A 3.3 GPA is pretty low for Geneseo. On the other hand, Geneseo gives the most weight to “Rigor of High School curriculum” and standardized test scores when evaluating candidates for admission so it is worth a try. UB might be a better fit.

i forgot to mention, i take all honors classes and will take a total of 5 AP’s by graduation so I guess the rigor of education is high… 3.3 unweighted btw

I’d say Rochester is a pretty high reach. Syracuse, Ithaca, the SUNY’s (Buffalo, Albany, Stony Brook, and Bing in particular), and Fordham on the other hand you have decent shots at and they’re all fine for pre-med.

Some schools in NY that I think you may want to look at as possible reaches (but not unachievable - depends on how strong your SATs end up being) would be: Syracuse, Fordham, SUNY Stony Brook, SUNY Binghamton, St. Lawrence U, Hobart & William Smith, SUNY Geneseo.

Some schools that I think might be fits, where you could have a decent chance of admissions, would be: SUNY Buffalo, Clarkson, Hofstra, SUNY Albany, Ithaca, Rochester Institute of Tech, Marist, Manhattan College, Wagner College, SUNY New Paltz.

Some backups might be: St. John’s, Siena, Wells College, Manhattanville, Hunter, Lehman, Iona, St. Bonaventure, Queens, SUNY Fredonia.

SUNY ALb, Buff, Oswego, Oneonta and Cortland I think you are good; Binghamton and Geneseo you would need some stellar sat scores for.
Manhattan college, Marist, Siena, Hartwick, St. Rose for some private options…
Rochester, Fordham, Colgate, Syracuse for some reaches…
