School Report - Does the college need a physical copy?

I am an international student from Mexico, and I need to know if I have to mail the University a physical copy of my school report? My counselor has uploaded my school report through the Common App, but I gather that schools need me to mail them an official copy in English? My high school charges $50 dollars for an english school report, which I would then have to mail internationally resulting in $30 dollars per envelope, so do I really have to pay $80 for each school? Or can I just xerox one school report multiple times and send the copy to universities?

I have applied to Berkeley and they say that they will only need me to send them a physical school report until after they have accepted me to make sure that I didn’t lie in my application, which seems logical. Are other universities like this?

Also, must the schools receive the physical copies by the application deadline? If so then I must mail them out today, because the deadline for 3 of my universities is Jan 1.

I’m applying to Columbia, NYU, and Boston University. Also to the U of Minnesota and ASU, but they don’t have a deadline so I don’t have to worry about those now.

Thanks!
Marco.

I am assuming you need financial aid? Berkeley and NYU wont give you financial aid. You may want to save some dollars by applying to schools that do give out international funds.

No, I do not need financial aid. I just don’t want to spend $80 extra on each of my applications.

Anyways I just purchased one of the official school reports. My counselor scanned them and will send the pdf through the CommonApp. Hope this is enough.

Yes indeed, it is enough. It only needs to be official and uploaded by your counselor.
